In 2022, EA. Aquaye Farms Ltd launched a major Agri-Product Distribution Network to connect its farm produce directly to high-demand markets in urban and peri-urban centers across Ghana. This move was aimed at reducing post-harvest losses, cutting down on middlemen, and improving profit margins for both the company and its smallholder partners.
The company invested in cold storage vans, packaging units, and digital inventory tracking systems to streamline delivery from farm to market. As of late 2023, the network supports over 40 retailers and hospitality businesses, providing them with fresh produce such as cassava, yams, poultry, tomatoes, okra, and leafy vegetables on a weekly basis.
Key to this project’s success was:
Creating predictable supply schedules
Ensuring produce quality through cold-chain logistics
Offering traceable and safe farm products
This initiative not only strengthened EA. Aquaye’s brand reputation but also built reliable revenue streams for its partnered smallholder farmers across the Central Region.
